Dr. Al Ghabban: State s concern on development of society and citizen, made it concerned of the national heritage
Almasalla Arab Travel Portal News – Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al Ghabban, Vice-President of SCTA for Antiquities and Museum, has recently stated that, the project of King Abdullah for caring of the cultural heritage of the Kingdom which was approved by the Cabinet last week, aims at creating a quantum leap in the efforts of caring of the antiquities of the Kingdom, its museums, handicraft and urban heritage as well as rehabilitating the national heritage in a manner that contributes greatly in the comprehensive economic development and create a national memory to enhance the cultural dimension of the Kingdom.
On the importance of Cabinet’s resolution, Dr. Al Ghabban, said that the importance of the resolution lies in the importance of the national heritage in general and its role in the cultural, social and economic development, and that its major objective is to create a quantum leap in the preservation and caring of the antiquities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Al Ghabban, further stated that, the project of King Abdullah for caring of the national heritage contains a large number of projects that could be divided into four major groups of projects, namely, the antiquities projects, museums projects, urban heritage projects, handicraft projects, and educational project for raising the awareness on projects of the national heritage. He added that, these projects will be executed within three years and are expected to create a quantum leap in dealing with the national heritage, besides producing a large number of tourism and cultural products which in turn will contribute to the development of national tourism based on the national heritage of the Kingdom.
Encouragement of development by the State, and its attention towards everything related to Saudi society and Saudi citizen has extended its concern to include the national heritage, and this project is considered a precious gesture by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques given his known attention towards the national heritage which is seen in his support to a number of events such as Al Jenadriyah Heritage and Cultural Festival or seen in a number of projects which were carried out on his own expenses as in the Jeddah Historic Area and the like.
