Investigation Progress Report (1) by the Egyptian Aircraft Accident Investigation Committee
aTP- Arab tourism portal- We began the investigation into the loss of MS804, as soon as it was reported. The investigative team collected information from various sources, Aircraft documents, crew documents, Air traffic control and other data management systems, including the AIRMAN (Aircraft Maintenance and Analysis) and ACARS (Aircraft Communications And Reporting Systems). Egyptian investigators are accompanying the Egyptian navy conducting the search operation in the Mediterranean Sea too.
We are looking at all the information that is collected but it is far too early to make judgment or decision on single source of information such as the ACARS messages which are signals or indicators that may have different causes thus require further analysis, as part of the overall investigation.
The investigation process involves multiple technical specialists, representing many parties, multiple national agencies, and international governments.
This process is governed by Egyptian Law and the International Civil Aviation Organization, Annex 13.
