DWTC to host 20 strategic trade and consumer events this April

 

Over 400,000 visitors and 6,000 exhibitors expected across key growth industries

 

 

 

 

 

aTP-  Arab tourism portal- Dubai  – Continuing its efforts to drive the region’s MICE sector forward, and further strengthening Dubai’s position as a leading global business destination, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) is hosting 20 trade and consumer events this April, expecting over 400,000 visitors and 6,000 exhibitors across key industries including healthcare, transportation, travel and tourism, education, leisure and entertainment, luxury retail, and arts and culture, with the highly anticipated World Art Dubai set to open today.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Discussing April’s event line-up, Ahmed Alkhaja, Senior Vice President – Venues, DWTC said: “The diversification of DWTC’s events calendar continues to attract a steady increase in visitor quality and numbers. This month, we are set to host a range of events pertaining to strategic growth industries, which will build on Dubai’s international attractiveness for exhibitors and visitors, and ensure sustainable ROI for all.”

 

In line with Dubai’s commitment to promote opportunities for creative expression and make art accessible and affordable, DWTC will once again host World Art Dubai from 6-9 April. Visitors will have access to over 2,500 works of modern and contemporary art created by over 200 artists from around the world. The event will also feature workshops hosted by prominent artists, screening of short films, and live music.

 

Alongside a focus on art, DWTC will also be providing 50,000 pop culture enthusiasts a chance to come together and experience everything from science fiction to manga at the Middle East Film and Comic Con, taking place from April 7-9. The event will provide fans an opportunity to meet celebrities and artists, watch exclusive previews, purchase limited edition merchandise and take part in exciting competitions.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now in its fifth year, Annual Investment Meeting (AIM), running from April 11-13, is the region’s first emerging markets FDI-focused event which offers education institutions, corporate and individual investors’ guidelines for financial investment decisions in high growth regions. This year, AIM is set to welcome 400 exhibitors and over 14,000 visitors. 

 

As the GCC student population is predicted to reach 11.3 million by 2020, the three-day Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) running from 13-15 April, will deliberate the urgency to provide excellent learning environments to all students living in the region. The event will showcase over 2,500 opportunities for higher education, professional development and training from leading universities and academic institutions worldwide.

 

Dubai is a clear global leading luxury destination and the undisputed jewellery capital of the Middle East. After a successful first-time show in 2015, Vicenzaoro Dubai returns to DWTC from April 14-17. The event will host 500 exhibitors from the luxury jewellery sector, giving them an opportunity to showcase their exclusive collections to 6000 visitors.  The event will also feature an exclusive calendar of networking events, seminars, one-to-one business meetings, conferences and workshops.

 

THINK SCIENCE 2016, held under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Emirates Foundation (EF) will take place from April 17-19, welcoming over 11,000 youth attendees. Marking its fourth edition this year, the event aims to provoke the cultivation of innovative ideas among high school and university students, with a display of interactive scientific models that they have researched, tested and built as an answer to current issues that will benefit global communities.

 

UITP Middle East & North Africa Transport Congress & Exhibition 2016, the largest transport congress in the MENA region, will take place from April 25-27. The event will showcase latest innovations developed by leading public transport manufacturers and suppliers, and the conference element will concentrate on not only public transport, but also all the characteristics of urban development and infrastructure that impact people’s mobility.

 


According to Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), tourist numbers are expected to grow at 7 to 9 per cent annually as Dubai remains on track to achieve its target of welcoming 20 million visitors by 2020. Arabian Travel Market, now in its 23rd year, continues to facilitate the Middle Eastern inbound and outbound travel industry to cater to this increased demand.

 

Taking place between 25-28 April, the event will bring together over 3,000 exhibitors and 36,000 industry visitors from sectors including travel technology, airlines, cruises, hospitality, car rentals, medical tourism as well as spa and wellness retreats. Alongside the exhibition showcase featuring leading travel and tourism companies, the event will also offers professionals an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the travel industry through insightful seminar and sessions on latest research and trends.
