The hybrid event took place on the 6th & 7th of December at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City, with the theme of ‘Renew, Rebuild, Recover’. Industry experts reflected on how the GCC emerged as one of the first regions to recover from the pandemic and shared valuable knowledge to support further recovery of the hospitality sector.

The annual event brought together influential leaders and hospitality professionals from across revenue, sales, distribution and marketing, united for the advancement of education, collaboration, and innovation in the industry.

Bob Gilbert, President and CEO of HSMAI said: “It is great to see how the industry has faced the challenges thrown our way by the pandemic with such resilience. It is crucial for hospitality professionals to come together and share their experiences and key learnings for us to progress together as an industry. We are very happy to have provided a platform to discuss and share the journey to recovery at ROC 2021.

Thirty-five keynotes and seven panel discussions were delivered on Day One by more than 60 senior executives and subject matter experts speaking in person from Dubai and virtually from around the globe.

Mona Faraj, Managing Director of HSMAI Middle East added: “It’s overwhelming to see the increased participation year on year. It is a testament to the growing faith and value associated with the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International in the Middle East.

“We will continue to build this regional community that will advance our industry across all commercial disciplines by providing leading education, best practices exchange, thought leadership, and networking for industry professionals and partners.”

Day two featured a Partners’ Insights virtual event, and a series of invitation-only round tables, facilitated by Bob Gilbert, President and CEO of HSMAI. Another key highlight of the event was a ‘Total Revenue Management’ workshop facilitated by Dr. Kelly McGuire.
