Every year, the GNTO and its several partners, including those from various reputed airlines, tourism boards and companies, hotels, travel and health care organisations and marketing firms, organise this event in different GCC countries.

Representatives of different travel agents and tourism boards in these three GCC countries met during "Dallal fi Almania" to update themselves with the latest developments in the tourism industry in Germany and to discuss the various travel opportunities that Germany is abundant with.

"Destination Germany has become one of the most popular choices of travellers and tourists from the Gulf region for several reasons. This is evident from the figures supplied by the Federal Statistical Office. Statistical data reveal that overnight stays by travellers from the GCC between January and November 2014 totalled 1,755,725. This equates to an impressive increase of 20.6 per cent compared with the same period of the previous year, and makes the GCC Germany’s third-largest non-European tourism source market", said Maria Amaral, Director of the Marketing & Sales Office of the German National Tourist Office (GNTO) in the Gulf region.

GNTO’s roadshows have a different theme every year. This year the theme was ‘General’ as the organisers felt that a wholesome perspective of travel and tourism in Germany needed to be highlighted. "Germany has plenty to offer for tourists of all age groups. The main attractions of Germany are castles, art museums, theatre, beach resorts, wildlife, theme parks, cross-country driving, nature walks, cycling and shopping. It is an ideal location for travellers of all genres," commented Maria Amaral.

Be it a family or the young adventurer, fun loving children or the relaxed, leisure-loving elderly, the art connoisseur or the nature lover, the corporate seeking recreation to break his hectic routine or the raring-to-go youth looking for the holiday of a lifetime, there is something for everyone in this wonderful country.

Germany enjoys a well-established public transport system that makes travelling to even the remotest parts of the nation a pleasurable experience. The pleasant temperate climate of Germany is another factor that adds to the charm of the place and woos the Arab tourist who is used only to extreme climates.

During the "Roadshow," the German National Tourist Office (GNTO) along with its 20 partners participated in seminars and workshops, establish extensive networking channels, and also involved in one-to-one dialogues that centred on promoting more exciting, convenient and attractive travel plans to the country.

The partners used this opportunity to chalk out special travel plans for Arab travellers who are basically very family-oriented, deep-rooted in culture and heritage, and ethical in their approach.
