Cambodia confirms its participation in the 2015 edition of the annual April Carnival of Carnivals in Seychelles

 

 

Almasalla, ATP News- Carnivals from around the world and Cultural Troupes from the Community of Nations all descend on the mid-ocean islands of the Seychelles every April in order to parade together in what has become the Carnival of Carnivals. This year this Carnaval International de Victoria will be held from the 24 to the 26 of April and only last week in discussions between Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture and Minister Thong Khon, the Cambodia Minister of Tourism.


Minister St.Ange, accompanied by Benjamine Rose, his PS for Culture were in Cambodia for the UNWTO / UNESCO World Conference on Tourism and Culture met with Dr. Thong Khon, the Minister of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia on the sidelines of the conference. "It was during one of our meetings that Minister Thong Khon confirmed that he would be personally leading a cultural troupe from Cambodia when they head to Seychelles for the 2015 edition of the annual Carnaval International de Victoria" said Minister St.Ange.

The Seychelles Ambassador Philippe Le Gall, who is based in China and accredited also to Cambodia, had been liaising with the Government of Cambodia and since a couple of months personally handed an invitation for Cambodia to be present for this year’s Carnival.

Cambodia is the latest country to confirm their participation at this year’s carnival that is now known as the annual Carnival of Carnivals. The 2015 edition of this carnival is also the 5th Anniversary of event.

The confirmation that Cambodia would be participating in the carnival in Seychelles made by Minister Thong Khon and Minister Alain St.Ange was also discussed with H.E. Dr Sok An, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia in the presence of Benjamine Rose, the PS for Culture of Seychelles.
