Mrs Azaïs said Seychelles is a country that loves music and possesses a block of talented musicians and composers especially in traditional and contemporary music.

‘’ From my point of view except from a very few concerts performed by artists such as Juri Bashmet once or twice a year, young musicians in general do not have sufficient access to quality classical music, which should provide a foundation of their profession’’ Alexandra Azaïs said
She added this donation of classical music CDs will help young musicians acquire a more intimate knowledge of western classical music and be a catalyst for creative inspiration.

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture thanked Mrs Alexandra Azaïs for being a faithful supporter of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.

‘’I am a firm believer in the work you’re doing to help our young musicians to better understand western classical artists and composers’’.  With Seychelles very talented artists witnessing the donation, Joseph Sinon, Patrick Victor and Jean Marc Volcy, the message that Seychelles needs to have access to quality music, couldn’t have been better propagated.

Minister St.Ange said that music is culture and the respect for culture was today more important than ever because culture is the base of the island’s tourism industry. "To have culture we have to believe in our people.

This culture of ours has our very own DNA and we should all learn to be proud of it and help the Department of Culture to grow this culture of ours" the Minister said.
