Celebrating Aviation in Alaska

aTP-  Arab tourism portal News – Vintage planes flew over Lake Hood on Sunday, as part of the Alaska Aviation Museum’s Alaska Aviation Festival.

Over 1,000 people, came out to look at the historic aircraft, and enjoy cockpit tours.

There was also food and drinks for adults, along with glider building and vertical wind tunnels for kids. But overall, the day was just about celebrating Alaska’s aviation.

"Alaska, which is a state that still only has about 20 percent of its population on the road system, still relies on the airplane and it’s growth is entirely grown by the Aviation industry, so this is just a celebration of Alaska’s heritage, which is the Aviation’s heritage," Jarod Hoogland who is the Executive Director of the Alaska Aviation Museum said.

The Alaska Aviation Museum is a non-profit organization and is open seven days a week, from 9 AM to 5 PM.
