SCTA President meets Moroccan Minister of Tourism

 

Almasalla Arab Travel Portal News – Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, President of SCTA, on Wednesday, 12th Feb, met in his office at the headquarters of SCTA in Riyadh, the Minister of Tourism of Morocco,  Lahcen Haddad, who is currently on a visit to the Kingdom at the invitation of  President of SCTA to attend the 29th session of Al Jenadriyah Heritage and Cultural Festival, which is organized by the Ministry of National Guard.  

During the meeting they discussed mutual relations between the two countries in the field of antiquities, museums, urban heritage and experience exchange in the field of tourism investment development and promotion, as well as rehabilitation and development of ecotourism, desert and rural tourism.

 

The Minister of Tourism of Morocco during his visit attended a presentation on SCTA’s programs and projects in tourism and national heritage areas.

In a press statement following the meeting,  President of SCTA welcomed the presence of Moroccan Tourism Minister, praising the historic and strong relations between the Kingdom and Morocco in different areas, especially the tourism.
 

"We are very pleased of our special guests from Morocco. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and  Crown Prince are paying special attention to the relationship with the Kingdom of Morocco. Our cooperation with Morocco has started since the early stages of SCTA’s foundation, where Morocco was and still the first country we seek to utilize its tourism experience as well as its experience in the heritage preservation and restoration and handicraft and traditional industries."

"We agreed to expand our cooperation efforts, especially after the issuance of several resolutions by the government recently, the most important of which is the "King Abdullah Project for Caring of the Cultural Heritage in the Kingdom", which requires great experiences and great support in order to begin imbibing such an important experience from an advanced country as Morocco. We will continue to cooperate in the enhancement of tourism investments in both the countries, as Morocco is a powerhouse in this field and we expect to benefit greatly from it."

For his part, the Moroccan Minister of Tourism thanked  President of SCTA for the invitation and the fabulous hospitality, expressing his pleasure for visiting the Kingdom and meeting  President of SCTA.
 

He also praised the remarkable progress reached by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of tourism and national heritage.

"I had the honor of meeting with  Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, President of SCTA and we have exchanged several opinions on the proper ways for developing the antiquities sector and the Kingdom is witnessing a great progress in the field of tourism and heritage. There are important projects and great efforts are done by  President of SCTA, which are worthy effort, and such remarkable efforts by Saudis are not surprising.

"We will benefit from the Saudi experience and we will be a part of the Saudi experience and place our humble experience within the reach of Saudi hands. Also we want to benefit from their international experience and from Saudi investment in Morocco. We will set a mechanism to ensure our partnership to be put into effect for the benefit of both countries," the visiting guest said.
 

The meeting was attended by the Moroccan Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to a number of senior officials of SCTA.
