Spanish mission finds a huge monumental tomb date back to the era of First Transition at Bani Suef

The Spanish monumental mission found at Ahnasia, Bani Suef governorate an important monumental discovery. It is a huge monumental tomb that dates back to First Transitional era “around 3500 years ago”. The tomb comprises an integrated funeral collection of a compartment, alms room and a tomb of a person called “Miro_Her_Ayb” who was serving as Secretary and Only friend to the King at that time.

Monumental sources stated that the tomb contains a set of pictures and inscriptions of red colour that depict the owner of the tomb and behind him the Seven Holy Oil Containers, top of each its name written in Hieroglyphic, a drawing at the lower part of the Western wall of tomb which bore an inscription represent the Musician Player of (Harp), which is one of the traditional funeral scenes in the ancient Egyptian art.

The remaining surface of the wall there are rows of courban bearers, who carry features of simple and primitive looks, with men catching birds or leading livestock herds

The sources added that the compartment is considered a small one and annexed to the tomb. It has two false doors and a courban table, while the alms room lies in the Eastern side of the tomb, where inside of which it was found two plates one of them for a person called “Khitty” the writer who is supervising fields and the other for the owner of the tomb. Also the mission found many canopy containers that have covers in scripted with the four sons of God Horus.

A detailed report was prepared to be presented to the Minister of Culture for allocating the financial sums required for completion of digging and restoration of discovered pieces for preparing the region for the tourists visit.
