CENP obligates companies of exhibition organization to ban "Energy drinks"

 

Almasalla Arab Travel Portal News – Convention and Exhibition National Program (CENP), an affiliate of SCTA, in a circular has informed recently all the organizers of exhibitions and conferences in the Kingdom that they should strictly abide by the resolution of the Cabinet which was issued on Monday, 3rd March, 2014, on banning the ‘Energy drinks’ during the periods of exhibitions and conferences.
 

The CENP in its circular has further urged the organizers of exhibitions and conferences not to broadcast directly or otherwise, the promotions of ‘Energy drinks’ on the media or in any other advertising means.
 

The circular has also banned the ‘Energy drinks’ manufacturing companies or their agents, distributors, or sellers from sponsoring sports, social or cultural events, or even acting in any way that may promote these beverages.

 

 

 

 

The circular on the other hand has indicated that, the resolution of the Cabinet has totally banned the free distribution of ‘Energy drinks’ to the consumers of different age groups, or selling them in the restaurants, canteens inside governmental facilities, educational and health facilities, gymnasium, and sports clubs, both private and public.
 

The resolution has also obligated the ‘Energy drinks’ importers and manufactures to print a text message on the beverage bottles in Arabic and English, warning the consumers on the bad effects of the energy drinks.

 

Noteworthy, SCTA since 2006 had decided to ban the participation of ‘Energy drinks’ in tourism festivals and events that are organized or sponsored by it on an annual basis across different parts of the Kingdom.​
