Princess Astrid of Belgium meets with Prince Sultan and visits the National Museum
Almasalla Arab Travel Portal News – Princess Astrid, the representative of King Philip of Belgium, on Last Saturday, 15th March, visited the National Museum in Riyadh.
Upon her arrival at the venue, Princess Astrid was received by Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, President of SCTA in addition to the Swiss Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Danflet Dag Yulin, and Saudi Arabia Ambassador to Belgium, Abdul Rahman Sulaiman Al Ahmed, besides a number of senior officials of SCTA.
Princess Astrid was accompanied by Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister HE Didier Reynders in addition to a number of Belgian senior officials.
Following the reception, Princess Astrid and Prince Sultan bin Salman was briefed on the discoveries of joint Saudi-Belgian exploration mission at Al-Ghat municipality. Prince Sultan and Princess Astrid commended the efforts of the members of the joint mission.
Then, President of SCTA held a meeting with Princess Astrid during which they discussed prospects of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Belgium in the areas of investment, tourism, antiquities and heritage.
Princess Astrid during her visit also met with Princess Adellah bint Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Chairperson of the Advisory Committee of the National Museum.
Princess Astrid along with the delegation accompanying her toured the different halls of the National Museum and got acquainted with the ancient civilizations that had taken place in the Arabian Peninsula and their role on the human history through the ages.
At the end of the tour, Princess Astrid signed the guestbook of the National Museum in which she expressed her pleasure for visiting it, describing it as a significant landmark narrating the brighter history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, besides expressing her admiration on its items and integration of its exhibits.
Noteworthy, Princess Astrid had arrived at Riyadh on Saturday, 15th March in accompany of a high profile economic and trading delegation in a visit will take several days to Saudi Arabia.
