Seychelles Workshop and Press Conference in South Korea hosted with success

 

 

 

 

 


aTP-  Arab tourism portal News – Seychelles Tourism Board hosted its first Seychelles Workshop in Seoul, South Korea yesterday, the 5th July as a commitment of the Seychelles to work closer with their partners in the South Korean tourism trade. This workshop in Seoul has been designed to provide a platform for the travel agents and press to meet with the trade partners from the Seychelles islands with the ultimate aim of a great dialogue to enhance knowledge and understanding of the Seychelles islands as the new unique tourist destination. The Seychelles Workshop received great attention both from press and travel trade partners – total 90 attendees.

 


Sherin Naiken, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board explained when she was addressing at the Seychelles Workshop in Seoul, the she was set to work closer with the press and travel trade of South Korea in order for Seychelles to claim is fair share of their outbound tourism market. Ms Naiken pointed out the excellent unique selling points of Seychelles as “bucket list,” which are key to selling the Seychelles.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Seychelles Workshop has been realised with support of co-host, the Etihad Airways, Korea and dedicated partners’ participation namely, Constance Hotels & Resorts and Creole Travel Services. There were also local partners who contributed to the event by providing their hospitality vouchers for draw. They were; Four Seasons Seychelles, Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove, Banyan Tree Seychelles, Coco de Mer Hotel & Black Parrot, and Cat Cocos InterIsland Ferry.

 

Also standing with the Tourism industry on this Seoul working visit were Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, Elsie Sinon, marketing executive at the Tourism Board, Julie Kim of the Tourism Board’s Korea Office, Dong Chang Jeong, the Seychelles Honorary Consul to South Korea.

 

The workshop consisted of three sessions – presentations of each partner from the Seychelles followed by press conference and one to one meetings between travel trade partners from the Seychelles and attendees from South Korea.

 

 

 

 

 

Minister St.Ange said when he delivered the key note speech at the gathering of the travel trade and press that South Korea remains an important tourism source market for the Seychelles tourism industry. The Seychelles is today represented by the Seychelles Honorary Consul to South Korea since 2005 and Seychelles Tourism Board Office Korea since 2007. South Korea and the Seychelles have always had excellent friendship and exchanges. On this foundation, the Seychelles will work more closely with the press to keep Seychelles visual and relevant in the Korean market, and consolidate the sales ground by Korean travel trades.

 

Ms. Julie Kim of the Tourism Board’s Korea Office also took time to do her destination presentation which the travel trade and the press found very educational and productive and said that they will reinforce promoting Seychelles to their respective target market.
