SCTA President instructs reshuffling of Tourist Guide Advisory Committee
Almasalla Arab Travel Portal News – His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, President of SCTA, has recently instructed the concerned authority at SCTA to reshuffle the Advisory Committee of Tourist Guides as the term of the last committee has expired duly.
SCTA has stated that, this resolution comes in line with its goals as it considers the private sector as a key partner in the development and improvement of the provided services as well as for preparing proper environment for the growth of any tourism activity.
The Tourist Guide Advisory Committee is mainly committed to contribute for the creation of appropriate environment for sustainable development for tourism guiding profession and attracting Saudi youth to joint this sector through rehabilitation and stimulation. Raising the service quality of tourist guides and addressing the obstacles that may prevent the sector’s development and the interests of tourist guides and discuss those obstacles with the relevant authorities to bring proper solutions to them.
The committee will play a key role in the development of standards of tourist guide profession and will participate in the development of standards and procedures of licensing of tourist guides. It will follow and evaluate their performance and suggest and determine better ways and incentives like, financial, technical and administrational support for the growth of tourist guide sector.
Also the committee will provide technical advice to the tourist guides and to the concerned authorities regarding the practice of this activity, besides participating in gathering and developing sector relevant studies and research in the Kingdom.
The new committee will be comprised of 10 licensed tourist guides; Sattam bin Ahmed al-Balawi, Ali bin Nasser Al Khelaiwi, Ahmed bin Attia Al Maliki, Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al-Saeed, Eisa bin Mohammed Al Eisa, Mohammed bin Abdullah Jom’a, Abdul Mohsen bin Ahmed Al Subai, Abdul Aziz bin Amer Al Sanusi, Freeh bin Khalif Al Muhanna, Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Fadel, in addition to three observers from SCTA. The committee term is one year.
