Review of the university experiments to maintain the architectural heritage
Almasalla Arab Travel Poratl News – A workshop of university education launched in the field of architectural heritage programs at the beginning of events of the Third National Architectural Heritage Forum in Medina, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ahmed Saif and in the presence of the Director of the meeting , Dr. Wassim Orfali.
In the workshop, the Dean of the College of Environmental Design at King Abdul-Aziz University, Dr. Yusuf Niazi said after the meeting at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals to follow the recommendations, and the most important scholarship assistants, three of them sent and finished the stage of master’s and doctoral study are now in the countries of the scholarship.

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Antiquities at King Saud University, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sharekh reviewed a number of college programs, and stated that they relate to heritage in the modern era and ancient heritage. He continued: “We have a keen interest in research work and maintenance and we have in the faculty many cadres capable of working in the service of architectural heritage,” he pointed out in his speech to the strong partnership that bound together by the SCTA, saying: “This partnership gives the students an opportunity to work and gain scientific and practical experience. He recommended at the conclusion: “I recommend that there be a record archives of the heritage of the Kingdom of research, photographs and other documentation and be available for research and I wish to benefit from them personally.”
The Dean of the Faculty of Islamic architecture at the University of Umm Al-Qura Dr. Hamza Ghalman said: “This college was established thirty years ago and has several important projects in Makkah and college has overseen the expansion of the Grand Mosque in Makkah.”
He listed a number of achievements made by the college in all these years, and stated, saying: “We have a program on behalf of the college that is important and as well we have a partnership with several universities as Al-Fateh University and other universities in Turkey, Egypt and other countries that have experience in maintaining the architectural heritage and Islamic architecture.”
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Hail Dr. Abdul-Aziz Al-Ghonaimi said: “Three years ago, an agreement was signed with the SCTA in the Kingdom, and we are now having the department of Tourism and Antiquities and the first year graduation since the past year.
He talked about the Faculty of Engineering and he expects that the first batch of graduates will be during the next three years. He said at the end of his speech: “The section cares for heritage to be preserved in the memory of Hail that has striking roots at history.”
Dr. Joseph Vadan began his speech, on behalf of the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning in King Saud University, mentioning the names of a number of graduates, including Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Ahmed Al-seif.
