Shenyang to start 72-hour visa-free stay
Almasalla Arab Travel Portal News – Shenyang, the largest city in China s vast Northeast region, plans to ring in the New Year as the country s seventh city to introduce a 72-hour visa-free stay policy to travelers from 45 countries on January 1, 2014. Liaoning Province’s capital, Shenyang, follows closely in the footsteps of its provincial neighbor in the south, Dalian, which made the same announcement just last month.
The policy aims to help boost local tourism development and promote exchanges with the world, according to tourism officials.
So far, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou in southern Guangdong Province and Chengdu in western Sichuan Province have already launched the 72-hour visa-free service. The municipality of Chongqing also introduced the policy earlier this year, bringing it into effect last month.
