The Vanilla Islands, as defined in August 2010 under the aegis of the Indian Ocean Commission, unifies the islands of Comoros, Mauritius, Madagascar, La Reunion, Seychelles, The Maldives and Mayotte under one tourism brand.
This regional cooperation is set to increase connectivity and create new multi-destination products to attract more visitors to the Indian Ocean with a stronger and enhanced brand.
This Press Conference, jointly organized by UNWTO and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of Seychelles, of which the Minister is the President of the Vanilla Islands, will introduce the newly created Vanilla Islands Tourism Organization, aimed to reinforce tourism awareness and competitiveness of the islands of the Indian Ocean, to the international community and the press,
UNWTO Secretary-General, Taleb Rifai and the Seychelles Minister of Tourism and Culture and President of the Vanilla Islands, Alain St.Ange will be present at the Conference.
