 Catastrophic bus crash kills 21 tourists in Thailand

 

Almasalla Travel News – A disastrous bus crash killed 21 pilgrims in Thailand on Wednesday. While returning from a Buddhist temple in Lampang, northern Thailand, the bus is reported to mislay control before plunging in a steep gorge. Among the survivors, almost two dozen were severely injured as per the latest reports. Most of the deceased pilgrims were women.

 
 
Lampang, a mountainous region in the Northern Thailand is almost 600 kilometers north of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. According to the police reports the reckless driving of the driver may be a reason for this catastrophic accident. Before plunging into a 98 feet deep ravine, the driver lost control of the pilgrim filled bus while trying to cut his way out of the curvilinear roads in Wang Nuea district in the Lampang province.
 
 
Thailand is increasing its poor fame of road accidents in the last few years. According to reports from media and internal organizations, almost 26,000 people lost their lives in road accidents in Thailand. The travelers who faced this uncalled for road tragedy had visited the temple to make merit, a Buddhist ritual of performing good deeds or other acts.
