Seychelles President Michel commends Police Commissioner Quatre as he bids farewell
aTP- Arab tourism portal- The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ernest Quatre paid a farewell call on President James Michel this morning at State House. Commissioner Quatre will soon be retiring after almost fifty years in service to the Police Force.
President Michel commended Commissioner Quatre for the remarkable work he had accomplished during his tenure and thanked him for his dedication and valuable contribution in the Police Force.
“On behalf of the government and the people of Seychelles I would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the excellent work you have done since you started in the Police Force. You have served the Police Force and the people of Seychelles well throughout your career, you have delivered exemplary service for the progress of your country with respect to the rule of law. The Police Force and the people of Seychelles respect you and thank you for your professionalism. I wish you a good retirement and I wish you well in your future endeavours,” said the President.
During the meeting, President Michel and Commissioner Quatre reviewed various aspects during his fifty years of service, rising from Constable to Sergeant, Inspector, Superintedent, Chief Superintendent, Assistant Commissioner of Police, and Commissioner of Police in 2009.
Speaking to the press after the meeting Commissioner Quatre has described his time in the Police Force as a success. He said that he have been able to deliver his tasks in the Police Force throughout all those years base on good tolerance and that he has been able to maintain a good working relationship with people around him.
“I joined the Police Force with determination and yes, there has been good and bad times but I have able to surpass those challenges. As Commissioner of Police I have maintained good working relations with all peers at all levels, with good teamwork which has make my work much easier.
I now feel that now it is time for me to retire and give more attention and spend time with my family, especially my wife who has given me the support throughout my career,” said Mr. Quatre.
The appointment of Mr. Reginald Elizabeth as the new Commissioner of Police was approved by the National Assembly this morning. He will be sworn in later this month.
Like his predecessor, Mr Elizabeth has also risen through the ranks of the Police Force, where he has served for over 42 years, and has wide experience in all its operations, especially in security and forensics, where he has been instrumental in bringing about innovation and capacity building.
Also present at the meeting this morning was the Minister for Home Affairs, Mr. Charles Bastienne.
