The Code represents one of the first initiatives to define the role and duties of tourism businesses with regard to the issue of sex tourism involving children. The objective of the Code is to work with travel companies and tourism in the fight against this crime.

We believe that striving to meet the six criteria of the Code, tourism businesses can integrate child protection into their business activities. Six criteria were formulated to turn the child protection principles into concrete action. In this way, companies will respect their commitments to sustainable tourism and ethics by taking concrete steps to help protect children against sexual exploitation.
