Ministry of Tourism launches ‘Discover Oman’s Beauty’ summer campaign to promote domestic tourism within Oman

aTP-  Arab tourism portal- The Ministry of Tourism launched  its ‘Discover Oman’s Beauty’ summer campaign in the Sultanate, which is targeted at locals and residents, and aims to promote domestic tourism by offering exciting packages at competitive prices from leading local tour operators and hotels.

One of the main aims of the tourism strategy is to establish Oman as a year-round tourist destination and, through this campaign, the Ministry wants to showcase the many tourism opportunities the country has to offer in the summer period, including mountain getaways, fun-filled water sports activities and an incredible array of cultural and heritage experiences.

The summer campaign packages also include attractive offers for adventure tourism such as trekking, hiking, and camping, in addition to marine activities such as dolphin and turtle watching, sailing, diving, and snorkelling.

The Ministry has launched a microsite especially for the campaign www.omansummer.com, which will run from May to September. Visitors and tourists can log on to the website to know more about the offers and details of the participating tour operators, in addition to the hashtags on the Minsitry’s pages on Facebook (TourismOman) & Twitter (@OmanTourism): #summerinOman

The campaign will kick start through a three-day exhibition at Muscat City Center, Seeb, in May where participating hotels and tour operators will showcase their packages and summer offers.

This is the second edition of the summer campaign. The "Oman Summer 2015 campaign" in 2015 was highly successful and the Ministry aims to get an even better response in 2016, as this year’s campaign includes participation from tour operators, in addition to hotels.

Moreover, the campaign this year is targeted at both local and GCC tourists, especially from UAE and Saudi Arabia.

As part of campaign promotion, the Ministry had even organized several workshops in Dammam, Riyadh, Jeddah and Dubai in March with active participation from local tourism trade partners to promote Oman as a key summer destination.

Salim Adi Al Mamari, Director General for Tourism Promotion for Ministry of Tourism, said, “For tourism to be a sustainable resource, it is important for the country to be viewed as a year-long destination and the summer campaign is intended to do just that. We want to bring to the fore what Oman has to offer in summers and encourage both locals and regional tourist to explore the vibrant nation and enjoy the vacation with their families in many of the cooler parts of the Sultanate.

We are very happy with the response we have received from our local partners and the offers for this campaign. We hope to see more tourists turning up in even bigger numbers to leverage these packages.”
