Beirut"Almasalla Travel News "- Despite all that has been taking place in the Middle East region, the Lebanese
Ministry of tourism is aiming to showcase and promote Lebanon as a safe destination
hub for tourists to see.
Lebanon is a country that thrives on tourism and visitors are getting to experience the
unique mix the country has to offer such as its mountain skiing, beaches, the nightlife,
the well known Lebanese cuisine, religious tourism, medical tourism, archaeology
and the welcoming hospitality the country is known for.
Last year the country tourism sector saw a 20% increase and according to the World
Travel & Tourism Council Lebanon’s tourism industry will contribute 4.3 billion to
the country’s economy in 2012.
The Lebanese Ministry of Tourism has kicked off 2012 with a good start, they have
attended all major travel exhibitions to date such as EMITT in Istanbul where the
Ministry was presented with the EMITT Award for "Best Stand".
His Excellency Minister of Tourism Mr. Abboud was present in ITB Berlin where he
conducted a press conference as well as met with Ministers from Jordan and Zambia.
MITT Moscow was also a great success for Lebanon attracting visitors to the stand
with the entertainment and the traditional Lebanese cuisine as well as all the country
has to offer.
The Ministry will be in Dubai at the end of this month for the Arabian
Travel Market along with Lebanon’s top tour operators and hotels showcasing all the
country has to offer.
2012
seems to be looking like a promising year for Lebanon as it has already been
ranked as the top three destinations to visit for Easter by Reuters Agency.
