Alain St.Ange continues to push the Seychelles’ 2012 Carnival

Cairo "Almasalla News "–  No opportunity is missed by Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, to take the podium and to speak about the Seychelles island’s 2012 Carnival set for the 2nd to the 4th March.

Just in the last three of weeks he did so in Paris, in London, in Korea, and in Germany where he addressed the Press and where he spoke about the world’s only carnival of carnivals that is now staged during the first weekend of March in Seychelles.

The CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board believes that the ‘Carnaval International de Victoria’ can be the carnival of the Vanilla Islands of the Indian Ocean.

In Dubai this week he spoke about discussions that are taking place with La Reunion Island and also with Mauritius to get what is the biggest single event on the Seychelles calendar to become that of the Vanilla Islands and that of the Indian Ocean.

“We all know that such an event as the Carnaval International de Victoria’ increases the visibility of not just the Seychelles but also that of the region. We can all benefit if we pull our forces together. The players in the Vanilla islands all want an events that is helping position our region on the tourism map.

Seychelles today has one of these events and our appeal is for the Indian Ocean Islands to join Seychelles and grab ownership of this carnival as a united group of island destinations”.

The countdown for the 2012 carnival in Seychelles will take place in January and after that regular updates will bring out the long list of countries sending delegations to the carnival.

Seychelles also continues to invite friendly countries to send Navy Ships into the Port of Victoria during the carnival period. “It is an invitation for the Community of Nations to rally together and send the clear message that the world is united against the plight of piracy that continues to affect the trading or shipping routes along the coast of Africa and the Indian Ocean’ This year the Russians, the British, the French and the Indians Navies joined the Seychelles Coast Guards to show the solidarity.

Seychelles hopes that more countries will join this show of support” Alain St.Ange said in Dubai at the time of the Dubai Air Show .
