aTP- Arab tourism portal News- India’s NRI Welfare Society has come out and call on all Indians Overseas to support Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Candidate for the position of Secretary General of the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organisation).
It is in their Official Newsletter this week that the NRI Welfare Society of India spelled out their request for all the Indian Nationals living in the four corners of the world.
This write-up follows their formal endorsement of Alain St.Ange made at their 36th International Congress of Non-Resident Indians on the 28h January in Delhi.
As a lobby group the NRI Welfare Society of India is big as they represent millions of Indian Nationals who continue to be associated with their motherland through their NRI Body.
India itself does not have a candidate in this coming UNWTO elections for the position of Secretary General.
Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Candidate for the coming UNWTO elections was delighted to see this request spelled out in the official newsletter of the NRI Welfare Society.
“The United Nations is a world body with a need to respect everyone’ s colour of the skin, religion belief, political affiliation and sexual orientation.
Today the Indian NRI Welfare Body went beyond their own borders to throw their support for someone from across the seas from them.
Even though we share the same Indian Ocean we form part of two different continents, but we live in the global world with respect for one another.
Seychelles is truly appreciative of this support” said Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles candidate for the post of Secretary General of the UNWTO.
“It is but weeks ago that I was Guest of Honour at the 36th International Congress of the NRI Welfare Society in Delhi and given the opportunity, in the presence of the Speaker of the Indian Parliament, Minister, Members of Parliament and other dignitaries of the Indian Society to detail my plan of action if I were to be elected Secretary General of the UNWTO.
That was a great opportunity which enabled me to bring the UNWTO to the people who at the end are the ones who stand as the frontline team of tourism industry” said St.Ange.
