aTP- Arab tourism portal News- Orange Egypt participated in the closing ceremony of the fifth round of “Ibtiecar” competition and “InnovEgypt” program 2016.
Orange was one of the main sponsors in collaboration with the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) which is affiliated to the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).
Orange’s sponsorship of this competition falls in line with its strategy that aims to encourage youth ideas and spread the culture of innovation and creativity in telecommunications and information technology among university students.
“Ibtiecar” focuses on projects of graduating students from engineering and IT universities. It also targets specific technological fields that benefit society.
The winners will have the opportunity of free training for three months in the “Business Catalysts”, affiliated to the creativity center in four governorates: Giza, Alexandria, Asyut and Mansoura.
25 universities participated with 151 research projects in this competition.
The judging committee consisted of 47 experts and evaluated the projects over two phases.
There were 20 wining projects from 8 universities: Cairo, Helwan, Ain Shams, Mansoura, Shorouk Academy, Alexandria, Benha and High Institution for Engineering and Technology in Kafr El Skeikh.
Orange Egypt sponsored the mobile applications track.
The winning projects focused on transportation, data storage and transfer, video and multimedia apps, low-power transformer systems for IoT apps, cloud computing encryption as well as smart apps for homes.
Commenting on the competition and Orange sponsorship; Rana Abbadi, Chief Regulatory & Wholesale Officer, said, “Orange gives significant attention to projects of creativity and innovation; this comes in line with the general national trend of supporting youth ideas and new concepts as well as encouraging business leadership.”
