Ministry of Tourism to participate in JATA Tourism Expo Japan
aTP- Arab tourism portal News- A delegation from the Ministry of Tourism visited the JATA Tourism Expo Japan 2016, which was held from September 22 to 25 in Tokyo, Japan. Recognized as one of the largest travel events in the world, the Expo helped the Ministry gain insights into the Japan market, showcase Oman as a unique tourist destination and encourage Japanese travellers from to visit the Sultanate. The trip was organised by the Ministry along with the Oman Embassy in Japan.
The all-encompassing expo provided abundant opportunities for tourism professionals to exchange information and conduct effective business meetings during the course of the four days.
The first two days of the Expo were focussed on business meetings and discussion forums, along with media and networking events, while the last two days were open to the general public.
During the Expo, the Ministry had discussions with 10 tourism-related companies, including tour operators and DMCs, to discuss future cooperation and promote Oman as a leading destination for the Japanese traveller.
Salim Adi Al Mamari, Director General for Tourism Promotion for Ministry of Tourism, said, “JATA Tourism Expo is a wonderful platform to discuss global tourism and benefits from the discussions with professionals who have gathered from all over the world.
Japan has all the potential to be a crucial tourism market for Oman and the visit gave us a better understanding of the Japan tourism market and preferences of the Japanese travellers.
Our meetings with the local tour operators were very positive and we will most certainly use their expertise to our advantage in promoting Oman as a destination of choice.”
