aTP- Arab tourism portal News- The largest ever gathering of African Minister for a CAF meeting took place this week in Addis Ababa and it has been described as one of the great gatherings. Present also was Taleb Rifai, the outgoing SG of the UNWTO and Elsia Grandcourt, the UNWTO’s Director for Africa.
Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Candidate for the position of Secretary General for the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) was also in Addis Ababa and apart from being present for the CAF Ministers Meetings he also used his time in Ethiopia to network with African Ministers about the 12 May elections.
“Many new Ministers were present. We had time to sit on a one-to-one as well as in groups to get better acquainted firstly, but also to discuss the coming UNWTO elections and the Africa bid. I found this African Ministers meeting really beneficial.
We also left Addis Ababa with more clarity in our minds . On a very personal basis I made new friends, renewed old friendships and left looking forward to the 12 May elections” Alain St.Ange said.
St.Ange, the known and well appreciated Seychelles former Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine also participated in the CAF Ministerial session sitting alongside Anne Lafortune, the PS for Tourism in the Seychelles Government.
It was from Addis Ababa that the Seychelles launched their Election Manifesto for the coming UNWTO elections and this impressive document was very visible on every Social Media platform from Thursday.
Alain St.Ange also used the Addis Ababa gathering to meet privately with Taleb Rifai and discuss global tourism among other matters.
