World’s top destination wedding planners and the wedding tourism industry to head to Mexico for 2018 DWP Congress

Los Cabos Tourism Board along with the Mexico Tourism Board has successfully won the bid to host this one of its kind international congress for the high spending and extremely lucrative destination wedding market.

350,000 couples around the world tie the knot overseas every year, and according to recent stats, 9% of these were hosted in Mexico. In the last five years’ destination weddings have increased by 50%, in Mexico.
Thanks to its stunning venues, connectivity to the US and competitive packages, weddings in Mexico are gaining popularity with the average cost per person ranging between $1,000 and $3,000, inclusive of transportation, accommodation and experiences.
Capitalising on its status as one of the world’s most romantic wedding destinations, Mexico has also witnessed a rise in the number of luxury hotel brands operating in the country.
Recent openings in the host destination Los Cabos have included the upscale Paradisus, Grand Velas, Chileno Bay Resort & Residences and Krystal Grand.
