aTP- Arab tourism portal- Italian singer of Seychellois descent, Farried Dufrene is keen to promote Seychelles in Italy. The R&B and Hip-Hop artist whose stage name is Jason Royal was in Seychelles recently and had the chance to hold talks with the island’s Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange.
Present at the meeting which was held at the Ministry’s Espace building offices were the principal secretary for tourism Anne Lafortune and Farried’s girlfriend Silvia Galletti. Farried said it is not the first time he has visited the birth country of his mother Jourdane Dufrene, who also accompanied him on his trip to Seychelles.
The R&B artist who lives in Milan, added that he loves Seychelles and that he wishes to promote the islands in his songs and across Italy. Farried is the grandson of Andrea Dufrene who composed the song ‘Ferdinand’, and said that his grandfather has been his inspiration.
Keen to promote his music in Seychelles, Farried has been contacting local musicians to undertake this task. Farried added that he would like to sing in Creole one day, and saluted the Seychellois musicians for their great work in the music industry of the country.
Minister St.Ange congratulated Farried for his initiatives and wished him success in his future endeavours in the world of music.“When a country transports its culture, be it music or any other forms of arts, or any other elements, as a country we benefit,” Minister St.Ange added.
“I wish you success with your work and salute you for the efforts of promoting Seychelles in your music and across the world”
Farried has performed in many country across the European continent and has worked alongside top R&B and Hip-Hop artists.
