John Jabbour, the representative of the World Health Organization in Egypt, praised the way in which the authorities in Egypt dealt with the Corona virus, stressing that Egypt and Oman are the only countries in the region that have a “strong monitoring system that depends on events.”
The representative of the World Health Organization in Egypt said in an interview with the network CNN The American News, that Egypt has worked well to contain groups since the beginning of the event, or the emergence of symptoms among tourists, and then contacts and control within the community in order not to spread on a larger scale.
The World Health Organization announced that the total number of infections with the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19) worldwide reached 152,428 cases.
The organization added – according to the network “CNN” yesterday – that 5 thousand and 393 people died as a result of infection with the epidemic virus, cases of infection were recorded in 141 countries, explaining that China is still the country most affected by the virus, recording 81 thousand and 48 cases, followed by Italy, which recorded 21 thousand and 157 cases, while Iran ranked third in the world with more than 12 thousand and 700 cases.
It is noteworthy that the new corona virus ((Covid-19) appeared in late December 2019 in the Chinese city of “Wuhan” in a market for selling wild animals, and then spread quickly with a massive movement of citizens to spend the Lunar New Year holiday last January.
