Regarding the Prime Ministerial Decree issued on May 5, 2021 regulating some commercial and entertainment activities in Egypt along the end of Ramadan and during the period of the Feast holiday, over the coming two weeks (6-21 May 2021), Dr. Khaled El-Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities asserted that beaches, coffee shops and restaurants in hotels countrywide, are exempt from applying the stipulated closing hours (9:00 pm) dictated by the Prime Ministerial decree.

He added that the exemption was made to ensure that the time spent by holidaymakers in Egypt, whose numbers have been on the rise, remarkably since the beginning of 2021, especially in the Red Sea and South Sinai governorates, is not affected by the decree.

Dr. El-Enany stressed that the tourism hospitality establishments will operate normally, nevertheless this should be carried out in accordance with the mandated regulations and hygiene safety measures, in place since the resumption of inbound tourism in July 2020, and must continue to abide by the 50 percent occupancy regulation.

Guests can still enjoy their holidays and indulge in all activities offered by the hotels and resorts around the clock.
