Seychelles-India Day committee echoes words of thanks to its partners
aTP- Arab tourism portal-Those who have helped and supported the Seychelles-India Day celebrations held earlier in October were recognised and thanked last week during a reception held at the restaurant of the International Conference (ICCS) in Victoria.
Attending the gathering held at the Seafront restaurant of the ICCS were the Designated Minister Vincent Meriton, Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange, the Indian high commissioner Sanjay Panda, PS for Culture Benjamine Rose, members of the Seychelles-India Day committee and of the Indian community living in Seychelles and a number of partners.
Speaking at the reception, the committee’s chairperson Ramu Pillay said the Seychelles-India Day event has marked the country and he used the opportunity to thank Minister St.Ange for his continued inspiration and for his initiative.
Mr Ramu Pillay also expressed words of thanks to the government of Seychelles for their continued support as well as the Indian high commission and all partners who have come to ensure that the event becomes a successful one each year.
Mr Panda said without people such events have no meaning, adding that the response generated from the Seychelles-India Day celebrations was phenomenal.
The Indian High Commissioner added that this event has been recognised as one which helps to promote the Indian culture in Seychelles.
Speaking about the Presidential elections in the country, Mr Panda commended the people of Seychelles for the orderly manner of the election process, adding that even the largest democracies of the world can learn from Seychelles.
Addressing those present at the gathering, Minister St.Ange said the Seychelles-India Day event has shown that through unity and dedication, so much can be achieved.“We need to remain united and focused. We need to keep working together and remain one united people,” Minister St.Ange said.
The Minister also reaffirmed the government and Ministry of Tourism and Culture’s continued support towards strengthening the friendly ties between India and Seychelles.
During the ceremony, a collection of Photo CDs of the Seychelles-India Day events of 2015 were presented to Ministers Meriton and St.Ange as well as Narasimhan Ramani. Certificates and shields were also presented to all sponsors.
