Tourism Minister of Seychelles impressed with La Digue’s tourism establishments
ATP- Arab tourism portal-The Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange met some hoteliers on La Digue last week during the continuation of his door to door visits to tourism establishments in the country.
Minister St.Ange was accompanied by the principal secretary for tourism Anne Lafortune.
Firstly, they visited the Fleur de Lys self-catering bungalows, which is not far from the Anse Reunion beach. Fleur de Lys is nested in a large tropical garden, with palm trees adding charm to the neat décor of this property.
It has been offering accommodation services to clients since July 1997, and has recently clocked 18 years in the tourism industry.
Minister St.Ange met David Choppy, who manages the establishment of eight bungalows. Mr St.Ange commended Mr Choppy and the owners of the place, Mary and Ron Henry for keeping this property of almost two decades well-maintained.
Each bungalow has a living room, open plan kitchen, one bedroom, en-suite bathroom and a veranda where clients can relax.
Leaving Fleur de Lys, the minister’s next stop was at Marie-France Beachfront apartments. This small establishment is a family-run guesthouse with three modern apartments located upstairs of the building, facing the turquoise seas of La Digue.
Minister St.Ange has commended both establishments for contributing to the development of La Digue’s tourism industry and for keeping their properties to good standards.
He said it is encouraging to see families running their tourism establishments, adding that this is a good example of people claiming back their industry.
The aim of these visits is to help the minister stay in touch with the tourism industry and to meet the management and staff of these establishments so as to know of the challenges they face and of their successes as well.
