Tourism Minister and Taxi Operators meet at Kempinski Resort with Transport & Licensing Officials

 

 

 

 

 

ATP-  Arab tourism portal- Minister Alain St.Ange، the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture chaired a meeting at the Kempinski Resort with Taxi Operators in the West of Mahe and Masami Egami, the General Manager of the Resort in the presence of Anne Lafortune, the PS for Tourism, Tim Marie, the Acting Transport Commissioner, Christopher Nicette, the Principal Inspector for the Road Transport Commission and Flavia Contoret, the Principal Licensing Officer responsible for Traffic Department.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This meeting was called following a request received from the Taxi Operators for the Ministry of Tourism and Culture to continue to meet the Taxi Operators and Hotel General Managers together. This particular meeting was specifically to see the challenges the Taxi Operators felt they were being faced with at the Kempinski Resort.  For Minister St.Ange these meetings are a way for his Ministry to remain connected directly with the tourism trade and the services used by the tourism industry such as the Taxis.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Taxi Operators tabled three points for discussion which were tackled one by one. The three points covered the relationship between the Taxi Operators themselves and the Hotel s Management , the distribution of works by the hotel where the Taxis in the Queue were not being respected and the third the facilities at the hotel for the Taxi Operators.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In what was seen as a frank and open dialogue in true Seychelles working together spirit Minister Alain St.Ange said as he closed the meeting that it was always important for such quality time allocated for ironing out small points that has a big impact on the day to day management of the Seychelles Brand, the industry that remains the pillar of the Seychelles economy. "The Seychelles Brand is not only hotels and resorts, it is our country and everything that makes the country work. Today we looked at taxis and hotels, but we need to always remain focused on what we expect as Seychellois because what is good for us is also good for our visitors" Minister St.Ange said as he visited the facilities put at the disposal of Taxi Operators at the Kempinski Resort.

 

"Today we have reached a level of consensus in our deliberations between the Taxi Operators and the Hotel s Management. We shall keep on with such an approach that ensures we are always connected to our frontline Team" said Minister St.Ange
