Failure is part of innovation success – repeat, repeat, repeat

 


World Summit Award (WSA) Innovation Forum at ADA University, Baku, Azerbaijan

 

 

 

 

 

ATP-  Arab tourism portal-19 global ICT experts met with hundreds of students, start-ups and young entrepreneurs from Azerbaijan to share insights in digital innovation with high societal impact. Their conclusion: The key to sustained innovation is not a good idea, but the will to learn from failure and to repeat efforts.

 

The 1st WSA Innovation Forum took place as part of the WSA Grand Jury2015 meetings, where the world’s best 40 digital innovations are selected from 386 nominations from UN member states. It was hosted by the ASAN Innovations Center Azerbaijan and ADA University in Baku at the university’s splendid campus.

 

“Young people think it is the original idea, which makes for success in innovation. Older people think it is money and investors. Both are in the end wrong. What makes one successful innovators is persistence in learning and collaborating. And failing is part of the game.” says WSA Chairman Peter A. Bruck.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Muhammadou M.O. Kah, Ph.D, Vice Chancellor/President/Rector & Professor of In-formation Technology & Communications points out: “I continue to observe how important it is to develop our youthful populations in large numbers in the. Qualified teachers, lec-turers and will help the learner develop a passion for the subject. I do not need to con-vince anyone here about the importance of science and technology in transforming the socio-economic trajectory of a nation.”

 


“Accessibility and international recognition are a base factor for successful innovation. Azerbaijan’s ASAN Centers are a best practice for this kind of accessibility and recognition.” Kamran Agasi, Director Asan Innovations Center, states.

 

Framing the WSA Innovation Forum was this year’s WSA Grand Jury Meeting 2015, hosted by the ASAN Innovations Center Azerbaijan, ADA University and Nar mobile.The 8th Grand Jury 2015 meeting in Azerbaijan once more will bring forth the best 40 international digital innovations, which excel not only in their fresh mindedness, but in their importance on solving local issues.
