SCTH Riyadh Branch signs cooperation agreement with Almarai to develop tours to its factories in farms
ATP- Arab tourism portal- SCTH branch in Riyadh early in the day, Thursday, 20th August 2015, signed a cooperation agreement with Almarai Co. The two parties have agreed to establish a program to strengthen cooperation and take advantage of the services of tour operators in offering tours of tourism sites during the local and national events in the Riyadh regions, including tours to Almarai factories in Al-Kharj farms.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Almarai by Mr. Abdullah Al Abdul Kareem, Deputy CEO of the company, and by Eng. Abdul Aziz bin Hassan Al Hassan Director of SCTH branch in Riyadh.
In a press statement following the signing ceremony, Eng. Al Hassan said, “The agreement falls under SCTH’s objectives for developing, promoting and organizing tourism, antiquities and the national heritage in the Kingdom as well as enhancing their role in human, cultural and economic development. This could be achieved through coordinating the efforts of both the public and private sectors in a way the serves the State’s prospective goals in the establishment of SCTH.”
Eng. Al Hassan further said, “The agreement covers coordination and cooperation between the two parties with tour operators in encouraging them to provide tour offers and tourist programs to Almarai facilities for visiting tourism sites in the Riyadh province, as well as organizing tourism trips to Almarai factories.”
In addition, the agreement aims to develop coordination efforts between the two parties for marketing company’s events and festivals through SCTH’s marketing channels.
In his turn, Deputy CEO of Almarai Company, Mr. Abdullah Al Abdul Kareem, referred to Almarai keenness to cooperate with SCTH in the field of tourism trips, explaining that, the number of visitors in the first-half of the current year reached to 15000, adding that Almarai focuses on increasing the number of its visitors as it targets all categories of the society.
The agreement provides that, the company to allow the tour operators to take part and present their tour offers within the activities that the company organizes. To make the site ready for receiving visitors, organizing activities to suite the targeted categories. Also to coordinate with SCTH for organizing tourism trips to its official delegations for visiting company’s farms and factories, including transport and hospitality services.
The agreement further provides that, two parties to form a joint team in order to supervise and manage areas of mutual cooperation and that this team to undertake coordination efforts between the two parties, to set or approve any area of cooperation besides undertaking, in general, execution of all the areas of joint cooperation that are stated in the agreement.
