ATP-  Arab tourism portal-  DAMMAM- King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) in Dammam signed a contract to establish and run a private aviation terminal with XP Jet America, a leading company in the construction and operation of buildings with the most advanced and modern techniques.

The 23-year contract was signed in the presence of well-known businessmen, private aircraft owners and the media.

The project, scheduled to be completed in 24 months, will meet the need for a dedicated building to serve private aircraft owners.

Airport management said that it has allocated 100,000 square meters for aircraft parking, 30,000 square meters for a special aviation building, along with 130,000 square meters for parking lots.

KFIA’s director general thanked General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) President Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al-Hamdan for his continuous efforts to overcome all obstacles and provide everything needed for this project.KFIA is located between Qatif and Dammam.

It is linked to populated areas by two major highways — the northern exit links the airport with Qatif; the southern exit links the airport with Dammam to King Fahd Road which is now considered the main road to the airport.

Abu Hadriyah Highway serves as the airport’s eastern border, while the Dammam-Riyadh Highway serves as its southern border.

On the airport’s southern border, Saudi Aramco occupies an area of 250 square km for oil drilling and transportation facilities. However, the area is being claimed by many investors for residential and commercial use.

If the issue is resolved, the terminal would be as close as 10 km to the urban areas of Dammam.
