Sultan bin Salman SCTH President meets the Prime Minister of Albania
aTP- Arab tourism portal News- Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, President of SCTH, on Wednesday, September 7, met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Edi Rama in Albania. The meeting was held as part of State visit of HRH President of SCTH to the Republic of Albania.
The meeting had focused on the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the areas of tourism, monuments, museums and architectural heritage.
Prime Minister of Albania during the meeting expressed Albania’s desire to enter into an agreement of cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the afore said fields, as well as for expanding aspects of cooperation between the investors of the two countries in these areas, in addition to expressing his desire to visit the Kingdom as soon as possible to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
The Prime Minister of Albania during the meeting praised the unprecedented renaissance that the Kingdom has witnessed and the great role it plays under the leadership of the Custodian of the two holy mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz(may Allah protect him).
For his part, President of SCTH emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with the State of Albania in the tourism areas, and welcomed to present the expertise of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Albania to utilize it in the development of the tourism sector in Albania.
President of SCTH during his visit, also met with the Minister of Economy, Tourism and Trade, Milva Ekonomi, who offered a presentation during the meeting highlighting the efforts and role of her Ministry, making it a key economic sector through marketing Albania in the world tourism map. She also expressed her desire to enter into an agreement of cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism.
President of SCTH during his visit also met with the Albanian Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro, who expressed her admiration towards the Saudi heritage sites that are registered on the World Heritage list of UNESCO. She also gave a presentation about the ongoing projects executed by her Ministry, including the establishment of a number of museums and new cultural centers for highlighting the Albania historic potentials and its deeply rooted cultural heritage.
During the meeting, President of SCTH highlighted the efforts of the Commission in the introduction of cultural dimension of the Kingdom to the world, as well as educating Saudi citizens on the Kingdom’s heritage and the deep rooted culture through a number of projects, at the forefront of which comes the "Custodian of the Two Holy Mosque’ Program for the Caring of Kingdom’s Cultural Heritage" and the “Live Saudi Arabia” program.
president of SCTH during his visit also met with Erion Veliaj, the Tirana Mayor, who during the meeting highlighted the great efforts made by the Albanian government to rebuild and develop a number of heritage buildings and sites that express the deep rooted history of the city of Tirana.
President of SCTH during his meeting with the Tirana Mayor, he invited him to attend the next Urban Heritage Forum which will be held in Riyadh, the capital city of the Kingdom.
To mark the occasion, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Republic of Albania, Tala’t Rodwan, hosted a gala dinner in the honor of HRH the President of SCTH, and it was attended by several senior officials off the Albanian government, in addition to the ambassadors of the Arab and Islamic countries.
Noteworthy, President of SCTH arrived in Tirana, the capital of Albania, on last Tuesday September 6, 2016, on an official invitation of the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.
