SG stresses importance of aviation to achievement of UN SDGs in Argentina
aTP- Arab tourism portal News – Dr. Fang Liu (left), ICAO’s Secretary General, stressed the importance of Argentina’s contributions to international civil aviation in bilateral meetings with the country’s Minister of External Affairs and Worship, Ms. Susana Mabel Malcorra (right), and Minister of Transport, Mr. Guillemo Dietrich.
Travelling at the invitation of the Government of Argentina, Dr. Liu was accompanied by Mr. Franklin Hoyer, Regional Director of ICAO’s South American Office.
The visit was an opportunity for Dr. Liu to highlight ICAO’s initiatives to strength awareness of air transport’s critical role in driving global social and economic development and supporting the achievement the United Nation’s Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
During her stay, Dr. Liu also undertook visits to local aeronautical organizations. She was received by Ms. Pamela Suarez, President of Argentina’s Board of Investigation of Civil Aviation Accidents (JIAAC), and she toured INVAP, an aerospace company, and Centro de Instrucción, Perfeccionamiento y Experimentación, the Argentinian Civil Aviation Authority’s specialized TRAINAIR Plus aviation training centre.
