Kiddies carnival in Seychelles reaches new heights in this marriage of tourism and culture with the protection of the environment

 

 

 

ATP-  arab tourism portal- Hundreds of little masquerades paraded at Freedom Square in the centre of Victoria for the second edition of the Seychelles Kiddies carnival.

The 2015 Kiddies carnival started at children’s playground “ Paradis des enfants” and ended up in Freedom Square where the children, through their displays,  gave an adorable show to the public.

 

 

 

 

 

 


The nine schools, Montessori Pre-School, Bel Eau primary school, Anse Etoile school, La Rosiere primary, Beau Vallon secondary, N.R.A Mont Buxton, Anse Aux Pins primary school, Takamaka school and Bel Ombre school each got a few minutes on stage to impress the judges and the thousands of spectators present.

The little masquerades weighed their costumes and themes on originality.


Their performances were of stunning quality. Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture congratulated the children for their carnival outfits made from recycle materials.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“This Kiddies carnival is bringing in a new culture. Our children are showing the way in the new drive for the consolidation of our island’s sustainable tourism approach. The schools that participated today are real leaders because they have put all the talking and discussions behind them and came forward to be counted as serious partners of the islands drive for sustainable tourism by creating world class displays using only recycle materials’’ Minister Alain St.Ange said.

This year’s best overall presentation cash prize winner of R7500 was awarded to Anse Aux Pins Primary school with its theme float, “sweet sweet hats in bloom”. Beau Vallon secondary school’s theme was “Babies on board” pocketed R2000 for most the creative float.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bel Eau Primary school “clowns at work” took the award of biggest group. Montessori Pre-School theme float “children of the world” scooped best effort and walked away with R2500. Anse Etoile school won a cash prize of R3000 for the best “environmental friendly” float .

Takamaka school theme I Love Seychelles won “best costumes” and walked away with five thousand rupees and Bel Ombre school theme “ clowns, colourful and cheerful taking us in a world of laughter and joy” won best display, pocketed R5000 cash prize.

 Best overall presentation, Best display and best costumes cash prizes were sponsored by Desroches Island –Seychelles Resort. Prizes for most environmentally friendly, best effort, and best creativity floats were sponsored by Tanmi’s production company. Mr Peters from Radar Security of Kenya on their part sponsored 300 kiddies T-shirt for the participating kids.
