Closing the carnival at Freedom Square in the presence of the President of Republic of Seychelles James Michel, Minister St.Ange explained the last minute diversion of the carnival float parade on Saturday and the VIP sitting arrangement.

He said the alternative arrangements for the VIP sitting were not in any way linked to any of the rumours with regards to security issues.

Minister St.Ange outlined the re-organisation “was due to the fact the facilities in the stadium car park would not be sufficient to accommodate the sizeable Ghana contingent accompanying the Ashanti King’. Talking about the rumours with regards to security issues the Minister said “Nobody can destabilize the existing peace and security in the Seychelles.

When we launched this cultural event five years ago we knew that we were staging a carnival that would unite the Seychellois people and this immaterial of their political affiliation, their religious belief and of the colour of their skin.

This event is also a stage for Africa to lear to work with Africa and for Africa to get to know Africa and thirdly this event is also a stage for the world to learn to live in harmony and in so doing promote peace.

By being in Seychelles you will now become our ambassadors telling the world there is only one event that bring together the culture of the world in one of the smallest capitals of the world’’ Minister St.Ange said
