Dubai World Trade Centre hosts 20 events in March

 

 

 
ATP-  arab tourism portal- Dubai,  – With the March event season already in full swing, DWTC has confirmed that a total of 20 events are set to take place this month, attracting over 6,000 exhibitors.

Chief among these is the region’s leading maritime luxury extravaganza, The Dubai International Boat Show, organised by DWTC and currently taking place at the Dubai International Marine Club until March 7th. The show is bringing together nearly 1,000 exhibitors from more than 50 countries, and will attract over 26,000 visitors from over 120 countries in its 6-day duration.









 
In addition to catering to the needs of luxury boat buyers and suppliers, DWTC will also host a wide-range of events this month across a range of industries including power, transport, agriculture, equine and leisure.
 



Commenting on DWTC’s role as an enabler of business growth and development, Ahmed Alkhaja, Senior Vice President – Venues, DWTC said: “The MICE sector is an important facilitator of economic growth as it enables individuals from around the world to further their business and as a result, contribute positively to the development of their country. As the leading exhibitions venue in the region, DWTC has an important to role to play in helping those individuals connect by catering to a variety of industries, each of which has its own challenges and opportunities.”




 
March events started off on March 2nd with the 40th edition of Middle East Electricity, Paperworld Middle East and Playworld Middle East. With sustainability being a key global focus, the 40th Middle East Electricity represented a growing trend in understanding energy management and the emerging importance of renewable energies. With a 40% increase in visitors over the last 2 years, the show is instrumental in catering to the growing MENA power industry, which is forecast to expand by USD 70.7 billion per year leading up to 2018.



 
Paperworld Middle East and Playworld Middle East, which also took place from March 2- 4 welcomed over 6,400 trade visitors from the stationery, office supplies and children’s retail industries from over a 100 countries within the MENA region. Paperworld is the region’s leading international trade show for the stationery, paper and office supplies industry. Running concurrently with Paperworld was Playworld Middle East– the region’s only exhibition for toys and other child-oriented products.








 
According to Strategy & Analysis of CABSAT, the MENA media market is expected to grow from US$16 billion in 2014 to US$24 billion in 2019. Catering to this important growth industry, CABSAT taking place from 10 – 12 March aims to support over 13,000 attendees to assess the global impact of industry-evolving mega trends and highlight how regional companies can adopt products and strategies to drive and monetisation growth opportunities.


 
Another key event taking place this month is AGRA ME, which will be held from 16–18 March, and is set to attract approximately 5,000 visitors. The event will serve as a platform for attendees to discuss horticulture and agriculture issues including low cost sustainable farming and self-sufficiency in poultry farming.
 


The Middle East Rail and Cargo Show MENA, both held from 17 – 18 March, will focus on the MENA passenger and freight networks and look at the potential of Middle Eastern/South Asian trade routes to overtake transpacific trade volumes by 2020.


 
Dubai International Horse Fair and Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship 2015, will once again return to DWTC between 19–21 March. With more than 20% of its visitors expect from outside of the UAE, the event caters to the equine industry which has a significant global economic value and is worth some $300 billion dollars annually, 4.0 million horses, and 1.6 million full-time jobs, according to Alltech’s Steve Elliot.
