Almasalla, ATP News- Seychelles Tourism exhibited at the New York Times Travel Show, in the United States of America for the first time last weekend, as the exotic island destination look towards the US   for increased arrivals from North America.

Seychelles Tourism Board Director for Africa & the Americas, David Germain, was on hand to meet the media, travel trade and consumers alike during the exhibition at the Jacob K Javits Convention Center in New York, from the 23rd to 25th January.

Mr. Germain said “Seychelles enjoy a high reputation in North America and most consumers have heard the name “Seychelles” and are aware that our islands are a very desirable place to visit, and in view of that, our Middle-East and Africa / Seychelles package combination have been widely accepted in North America by both trade and consumers.

For many years now, North American leisure travelers have associated Africa with one   type of vacation: Safari, and the island’s Tourism Board offers the North American travellers the add-on options which will allow them to experience other types of cultures to add to their African and Arabian experience.

Flights to and from North America to Africa are available with South African Airways and Ethiopian Airlines, with easy connections to the Seychelles.

Packages to Seychelles are also being offered in North America in collaboration with the Middle East countries of Dubai & Abu Dhabi with flights from both Etihad and Emirates from North America to Seychelles via their hubs.

“Seychelles is offered in a number of itineraries in North America” said David Germain and Mr. Germain added that “Seychelles participation at the New York Travel Times Show provided the STB with opportunities to develop new partnerships with the travel trade, airlines, and consumers in general “

“The opportunities to increase arrivals from North America lies in our ability to participate in exhibitions and trade shows in the America, to have Seychelles included in travel packages with other destinations in Africa and the Middle East, adding value and creating new reasons for travelers to explore our Archipelago “ David Germain said.
