Almasalla, ATP News- Seychelles will celebrate the second edition of its Seychelles – China Day Celebrations from the 13th to the 15th of February and the main highlight this year, will be a cultural performance by the Arts Troupe of Chengdu
 

Although named the Seychelles – China Day Celebrations, it is in fact, a weekend long celebration and the chosen dates revolve around the Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival.  2015 is the year of the Sheep and the first day of the Chinese New Year is on February 19.

 

This will be the first time the Chengdu Arts Troupe will be performing in Seychelles.

 

The globetrotting, award winning Chengdu Art Troupe, named after the area they hail from, consist of a group of first-class performing artists.

 

Members of the audience can expect to be enthralled by a variety of cultural dancing, singing and acrobatic pieces such as the splendidColourful Flowers, which won the golden prize in a national dancing competition and has since been an audience favourite.  The gravity defying acrobats can balance on a single hand and juggle with their feet.  As for the Tea House Ladies dance and Sichuan Opera Face Changing and Fire Spitting, they fully demonstrate the infinite charm of tea culture and the unique attraction of classical opera.

 

Free tickets will be available to the general public and they can be collected from the Department of Culture.

 

With its strong cast and prominent Chinese national features, the audience can expect to be blown away by the Chengdu Art Troupe’s unique Sichuan charm and artistic feats.
