Led by its prolific founder, chief conductor, and UNESCO’s Artist for Peace 2006, Vladimir Spivakov, the orchestra is a favorite feature of the International Music Festival in Colmar, France. The orchestra’s 35 world-class instrumentalists, made up of top-ranking soloists from the great orchestras of Russia, will take the stage in Dubai to share a selection of classical masterpieces by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Rossini, Piazzolla, on Friday 20th February.
Vladimir Spivakov explained;
“In our 35th anniversary year, our world tour will reach more countries and more people than ever before, showcasing the range and beauty of many of our favourite composers, particularly Tchaikovsky. Every member of our orchestra is excited to meet and inspire both existing fans in Dubai but also those who may be hearing their very first concert orchestra.”
On behalf of the organizing team, who are celebrating bringing Dubai Classics back after a highly successful first 2014 season, Ahmed Alkhaja, Senior Vice President – Venues, DWTC commented:
“Our inaugural Dubai Classics held last year saw our concert hall packed with fans of all backgrounds and ages to relish the classical sounds of world-famous artists. We are increasingly finding a rich appetite for diverse events that touch a cultural cord among residents and visitors alike, and we are proud to usher in the new wave of live events to the region.”
Commenting on the partnership, Evgeniy Morozov, CEO, M Premiere said:
“Music is the most versatile universal language, making its relevance especially important for the multi-cultural mix in the UAE. The Philharmonic Orchestra and Moscow Virtuosi led by Vladimir Spivakov are each worthy of their own festivals – having them together over two eventful nights marks a milestone in Dubai’s music scene, and a must-attend weekend for classical music devotees or orchestral newcomers.”
