King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre Managed by Hilton Awards Winners of Short Story Competition
 

 

 

Almasalla, ATP News- DEAD SEA, Jordan – Stemming from its deep-rooted commitment to serving and enriching the community, King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre ("KHBTCC") managed by Hilton recently held an award ceremony announcing the winners of a short story competition the centre launched among students of Al-Sweimeh School for Girls last month.
 

The competition comes as part of the centre’s celebration of Hilton Worldwide’s annual Global Week of Service, where ninth graders were invited to write a tourism-related story about the Dead Sea or the convention centre after touring it and learning about its offerings and facilities. Five finalists presented and performed their stories at the ceremony in front of a panel of judges comprised from the KHBTCC team and an audience of their classmates, teachers and Hilton KHBTCC team members.

Islam Jaarat won first place in the competition and was awarded a cash prize, while Amal Farhoud came in second followed by Amal Jaarat in third. The winners also received medals and certificates for their participation.
 

Kamel Ajami, Hilton Worldwide country manager – Jordan, affirmed Hilton KHBTCC’s support for Al-Sweimeh School for Girls and the centre’s dedication to giving back to the community it operates in. He said: "At Hilton KHBTCC, we aspire to strengthen the local community of the Dead Sea, which we consider our home, applying the main pillars of Hilton Worldwide’s Travel with Purpose program."
 

Ajami added, "The short story competition comes in support of our strong partnership with Al-Sweimeh School for Girls and a materialization of our efforts to encourage volunteerism among our team members.
