Ahmed Juma Al Za’abi opens Sheikh Khalifa Mosque in Jerusalem
Almasalla, ATP News- JERUSLAEM,(WAM) – Ahmed Juma Al Za abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation (KF),yesterday opened the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Mosque in Jerusalem, in the Aizariya area in the eastern suburb of Jerusalem.
In his statement during the ceremony held on the occasion, Al Za’abi conveyed the greetings of the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, and the Palestinian people.
He also conveyed the greetings of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation (KF), on the inauguration of this great edifice, which has been constructed as per the latest architectural models and can receive thousands of male and female worshippers, adding that the mosque is equipped with all necessary facilities to perform prayers.
Al Za’abi added that the Palestinian issue is dear to the heart of the UAE’s leadership, government and people, particularly Jerusalem which is of great interest to the UAE, adding that the UAE has spared no effort in extending support to the Palestinian people.
He also added that for years, Palestine has ranked first among the Arab countries in terms of benefitting from the UAE aid, especially its underprivileged segments, pointing out that the UAE has built schools, hospitals, Mosques and centres for people with special needs.
He also reiterated that the KF and other Emirati philanthropist foundations always concentrate on establishing developmental projects, which benefit the biggest and needy segments, citing that KF has a number of projects in Palestine, particularly Jerusalem.
On his part, Sheikh Yousef al-Dais, Palestine’s minister of endowments, extended his thanks to the UAE’s leadership, government and people for this vital project, funded by the KF, adding that the project is part of a large number of projects implemented by the UAE in the Palestinian lands.
Al-Dais underscored the fact that the mosque, named after President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is proof that the UAE’s support for the needy people, especially those in Palestine, is permanent, adding that establishment of the mosque affirms that Jerusalem is in the heart of the UAE.
