Almasalla,Gate Arab Tourism News- Mr Jean-Pierre Mas, the President of the SNAV, the French Association of Travel Professionals and Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture made time at the IFTM Top Resa Tourism Trade Fair to meet and discuss tourism and the trends from France as a source market.

Mr Jean-Pierre Mas had earlier declared in an interview that he felt encouraged by the support provided by both the French Government and the Tourism Institutions mirrors the strong will of partnership that enables France to have a large trade show of international dimensions that France needs. This line of thinking is also what the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture is also saying because such targeted events brings visibility and ensures that the destination remains relevant.

It is only since a couple of years that the Seychelles entered the world of events which Minister St.Ange says was needed by the islands to increase their visibility and in so doing increase the visibility of the region. "We have a list of events of international dimensions, and these are today working for the country. We are now supporting the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industries drive as they have now embarked on staging a major Trade Fair for the region. Seychelles is ideally located virtually in the centre of that region of ours making us the ideal hub for South-South Cooperation and the Trade Fair being organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industries for May 2015 is a needed fair for Seychelles and for the region" the Seychelles Minister said to the press at IFTM Top Resa.

Mr Jean-Pierre Mas, the President of the SNAV, the French Association of Travel Professionals was briefed by Minister St.Ange on the recent one day meeting in Seychelles by key French Tour Operators which was attended by three Ministers of the Seychelles Government and by a large number of Private Sector players. "We have our own challenges and these were discussed at this meeting where the French Tour Operators spoke about these challenges that were making selling a Seychelles holiday more difficult.  One key challenge that came out at this meeting was the lack of direct non-stop flights between Seychelles and France, a service that was today available at competing destinations" said Minister St.Ange.

Mr Jean-Pierre Mas accepted to privately visit Seychelles in the near future.
