Mauritius & Seychelles Tourism meet the Vanilla Islands tourism and discuss cooperation
Almasalla,Gate Arab Tourism News- Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture and Mr Sydney Pierre, the Chairperson of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) made time as they were both in Paris for the IFTM Top Resa Tourism Trade Fair to meet and discuss cooperation possibilities between Mauritius and Seychelles.
This was the first meeting between Mr Sydney Pierre and Minister St.Ange since the since Mr Pierre was appointed to head the MTPS of Mauritius.
Both Mr Sydney Pierre of Mauritius and Minister St.Ange of the Seychelles agreed to explore avenues for cooperation and both agreed to join forces to work towards the consolidation of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands Regional Organisation.
Present at the meeting was Mr Pascal Viroleau, the CEO of the Vanilla islands who welcomed the expression of support from both island members who also remain key players in the tourism industry of the region.
This meeting comes just months before the Presidency of the Vanilla Islands moves to Madagascar before Mauritius takes over the Presidency in 2015.
Mr Pierre and Minister St.Ange both said that they were happy with the meeting and both reaffirmed their commitment to work in close collaboration with each other on avenues of mutual benefit to their respective islands.
During his working visit to Paris Minister St.Ange also met with the Madagascar Minister of Tourism and held discussions with Ariane Loupy, the newly appointed Managing Director of the Reunion Island Tourism Board.
