South Africa KwaZulu Natal will show their diversity at the carnival they are themselves co-hosting in Seychelles
Almasalla Arab Travel Portal News – Phindile Ngcobo, the Chief Operating Officer of Tourism KwaZulu Natal of South Africa has confirmed that the cultural delegation from KwaZulu Natal for the Carnaval International de Victoria will showcase the the cultural diversity that exists in KwaZulu Natal.
"Our delegation will showcase who we are and how representative we are" said a representative of the KwaZulu Natal delegation. South Africa KwaZulu Natal is ensuring that they are represented by a strong delegation that is representative of various the various KwaZulu Natal partners, including the Department of Economic Development & Tourism, Tourism KwaZulu, Trade & Investment KwaZulu Natal and the KwaZulu Natal Sharks Board.
The 2014 edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria is being jointly co-hosted by Seychelles, La Reunion, Madagascar, Mayotte and South Africa KwaZulu Natal. This edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria has some 26 International Delegations from the Community of Nations who will be parading along side another 28 odd local floats.
All the world’s major and most known carnivals have already confirmed their presence in the carnival parade on the 26th April in Victoria. These include the Notting Hill Carnival of the UK, the Brazil Carnival, the Italy Carnival, the Dusseldorf Carnival of Germany, the Indonesia Carnival and the Carnival of Trinidad & Tobago.
Close to 150 members of the International Press have also confirmed that they will be in Seychelles to cover the carnival that will start with a ‘Dialogue with the Press’ on Thursday the 24th April on a special charter onboard the luxury fast ferry ‘Cat Cocos’. Representatives of all International delegations dressed in their carnival costumes will also be on board the ‘Cat Cocos’ Fast Ferry to give the carnival atmosphere before the press meeting is formally opened.
The press will then see all the International delegations on Friday night at the Official Opening Ceremony and they will also join the thousands to watch the big Carnaval Parade on Saturday the 26th April. "This year CNN, BBC, French TV RFI, SABC, CCTV, Travel Talk from Canada, Antenne Reunion, OI7 Television, MBC of Mauritius, the Middle East Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), Television from Italy, Dubai Eye TV, DSTV, Korean Travel News, Tele Kreol of La Reunion, Zone Austral of La Reunion amongst many other members of the Press will all be covering the carnival. Coverage for all participating delegations was a promise we made and this is more coverage and interaction with the press than any tourism office can get at any tourism trade fair" said Minister Alain St.Ange, the seychelles Minsiter responsible for Tourism and Culture.
"It’s really great news that the event will have such widespread global coverage and we look forward to being part of the celebrations" said Phindile Ngcobo, the Chief Operating Officer of Tourism KwaZulu Natal who will herself be traveling to Seychelles with her delegation for the carnival.
